Information Session and Social Innovation Exploration Series Webinar

Themed “Golden Year Life”, the Social Innovation Exploration Series will focus on how social innovation improves the quality of life for the elderly in various aspects. Our guest speakers, a registered embalmer and co-founder of Keep It Simple, Mr Pasu Ng, and co-founder of BNET-Tech Company, Mr Richard Leung, will share how their innovative projects benefit the elderly. Following the webinar, an information session will provide detailed information about the Second Cohort, including the timeline, application procedures, course details of the Elementary Training, seed funding application, and evaluation criteria.

Richard Leung | Co-founder of BNET-Tech Company
Since childhood, Leung has always had boundless creativity and insatiable curiosity, and never settled for standard answers. Richard used to work in the toy industry. He came up with his smart cane (STICKu) idea when he realized the difficulties his sister had after she got cancer. In 2015, he and designer Brian Lam quitted their jobs to establish BNET-Tech Company and to develop a smart cane. Their goal is to design a smart device especially for the elderly that enhances their quality of life. Their excellent work of smart cane was recognised by winning the Gold of Hong Kong Smart Design Awards and Bronze Award of the Hong Kong ICT Awards. Richard now focuses on motivating teenagers to challenge themselves, sharing his valuable experiences with primary and secondary students, and promoting Gerontechnology.
Pasu Ng | Registered Embalmer and Co-founder of Keep it Simple
Ng Kwai-lun Pasu is a Qualified Registered Professional Embalmer in the UK, well-known Restorator, Funeral Arranger, Life and Death Educator, Author and Bookstore Owner. Pasu was formerly the Manager and Chief Embalmer of the dissection lab of the Faculty of Medicine in the Chinese University of Hong Kong, in which he launched the “Silent Teacher Body Donation Programme”.
Pasu is currently the Co-Founder of Keep It Simple, a social enterprise which provides funeral service; and One Take, social enterprise which provides ‘5 Blessings’ pre-planning service. He is also the Founding President of Hong Kong Life and Death Studies Association, Consultant of The Centre for Spiritual Progress to Great Awakening’s Buddhist Chaplaincy Unit, and The Samaritan Befrienders Hong Kong, Lecturer of the Hong Kong Baptist Theological Seminary, and Adjunct Lecturer of National Funeral Directors Association.
